Brytli ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is a habit-tracking app that helps you build daily habits, track goals, and stay accountable with a partner. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using Brytli, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Name, collected when you create an account
- Email address, used to create and sign in to your account
- Password, used to secure your account (stored securely by Firebase Authentication; we do not have access to your plain-text password)
- Profile photo (if provided), stored as a photo URL associated with your account
- Username, automatically generated from your name when you sign up
1.2 Content you create in the App
- Daily tasks and goals you add for yourself
- Tomorrow's tasks you plan in advance
- Streak and progress data based on your task completion
- Accountability partner information, including who you are paired with and the task/progress data you and your partner share with each other for accountability purposes
1.3 Information collected automatically
- Push notification token (FCM token), used to deliver reminders and partner-activity notifications to your device
- Sign-in method and account timestamps, such as when your account was created and when you last signed in
- Locally stored data on your device, such as the last date a notification was shown or a task was moved, stored using your device's local app storage so the App can avoid duplicate notifications and track daily resets
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, camera, or photo library contents.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Let you create, track, and complete daily tasks and goals
- Connect you with an accountability partner and share relevant progress between paired users
- Send push and local notifications (task reminders, partner activity, streak updates)
- Maintain the security and integrity of your account
- Improve and troubleshoot the App
3. How We Store and Share Your Information
Your account and app data are stored using Firebase services provided by Google, including:
- Firebase Authentication, which manages sign-in and account credentials
- Firebase Realtime Database, which stores your profile, tasks, streaks, and partner data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging, which delivers push notifications to your device
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only:
- With your accountability partner, limited to the task/progress information the App is designed to share for accountability features
- With our service providers (Firebase/Google) strictly to operate the App as described above
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Brytli, our users, or others
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and app data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (or request deletion), we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for legal or legitimate business purposes.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: you can review and update your name, email, and other profile details from within the App
- Notifications: you can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
- Account deletion: contact us using the information below to request deletion of your account and associated data
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law, such as the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data
6. Children's Privacy
Brytli is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard services (Firebase Authentication) to protect your account credentials. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
